Lunch with Ewensstomach

You may ask me when you see me "Ewensstomach, why don't you eat a large dinner?" and I will answer with "Because with lunches like this who needs dinner?"  Today I made marinated grilled deer back strap with grilled onions.  I marinated the meat for about 7 hours in a little soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce.  Cut thin so the flavors can soak in and cut down on the cooking time.  I spooned veggie oil and some season along with balsamic vinegar, put them on a metal rod and grilled them first because they take a tad longer than the steak. I toasted my buns and added provolone cheese to the top.  Finishing them off with a light drizzle of A1 season and some mayo the end result is what you see below.  This was an amazing way to cook the steak and took all the game out of it.  No one would ever know it was deer and polished them off as fast as I did.  Summer time is for grilling and I plan on doing a lot of it.  With Mrs. Ewensstomach pregnant she does not like coming home to a house of bizarre smells so grilling is the way around it.  And who does't like the taste of a smoky cut of meat?  Crazy people that's who.  Just kidding.  I will be doing some all veggie kabobs this summer and will highlight them here.  I am by no means a professional cook but I love food and grilling is one of the best ways to go out on a limb and try different things.  Grilled squid?  Who knows.  God bless, thanks for reading and see you by the fire.

First time easy biscuits

What to have with pasta?  Well after making an home made sauce I needed something to soak up and wipe off the plates. So I made biscuits. It was so easy. I added cheddar cheese to the mix and a shame I had no garlic left or they would have been perfect. They were fluffy, light and delicious. Ellen was happy because she was not wanting to eat the pasta so she just at them. Score one for me. Easy to do and will not buy store caned ones again. God bless, thanks for reading and see you with hands covered in dough.

Beef sticks

Short blog. Looking for good Chinese food?  If you are in the #Littlestown area and have to pick one I recommend Little China Town on South Queen St.  Right beside our only Mexican restaurant Dos Amigos. Tonight I am having their marinated beef on a stick with the hot chili oil. They smell amazing and I took a bite and they are well done and moist. Also an order of the #vegan #springrolls. Check them out. #eatlocal Husband and wife owned and operated. God bless, thanks for reading and Happy Easter.
